My wife just got a new Ipod Nano and neither of us is very computer literate. I'm trying to find out if we have to use only iTunes to get music, and where do I get iTunes? Do I download it?
You can use iTunes to purchase music legally and store it on your new Nano. Or, you can use Limewire ( to download music. Be careful though, downloading copyrighted music is illegal.

Unfortunately, none of the subscription services (such as Napster, Rhapsody, etc) are compatible with iPods as the files are saved in .wma format and iPod doesn't recognize that format. :(

Other than that, you can use iTunes to convert any CD you have into MP3 or AAC format (your iPod supports both) and store it on your iPod. :)

No, I have limewire and i use it on my ipod and my friends. It works just fine for mine. I also have Bearshare, but I found that sometimes doesn't work on any type of mp3 player-just certain types. I think if you convert the songs into itunes format you shouldn't have any problems.

You should have gotten a cD with your iPod. YOu have to put that onto the computer. It is very simple but when ity asks you if yit should take you to the iTunes Music Store or your library put it on your library. You can use the iTunes music store to get songs. You can also use your own personal Cd's. Put them into the computer and then just drag to your library. You can also use sites such as limewire.com but I would not recommend it because since it is illegal there are some viruses on that site. Limewire is iTunes compatable.
